The Art of Eating Real Food

What’s on your plate?

In my recent conversations, I have found that so many are focused on calories, carbs and macros.

While important, many of us have lost the art of focusing on eating real food, picked ripe from the garden, in season, and fresh.

If you’ve ever been to Tuscany, Spain, Greece, or a great Farm-to-Table restaurant, you know what I mean. You can taste the freshness, flavor and aliveness in the food.

Eating local and seasonal can make a huge difference in your daily energy, metabolism, and overall well-being.

WHY is this important?

It’s about light. Light is essential for life. And, as humans, our main source of light energy is the sun.

Light (vital sun energy) is stored in plants and animals. Plants store light in their DNA. Animals that consume these plants also store light in their DNA.

Vital sun energy finds its way into our bodies through the food we eat, supporting our cellular health.

The fresher the food, the better for us.

So, the next time you are about to eat, order some take-out, or create a plate of food, consider asking yourself…

  1. Is this food local? (i.e. from a farmer’s market, local co-op, community butcher, and/or healthy grocery store or farm-to-table restaurant.)

  2. Is this food seasonal? (i.e. pears, squash, apples in the winter. Watermelon, peaches, plums in the summer.)

  3. Is this food alive? (Juicy, succulent, sweet and flavorful. *Most processed foods are void of lifeforce! So it takes more of your bodies own energy to digest them, which in turn can leave you feeling tired instead of fueled.)

The more we focus on our food as a source of energy, nourishment, and cellular healing, the more likely we will begin to feel a greater sense of radiant health and aliveness - from the inside and out!

Cheers to your radiant health!
